Safety comparison between ship type switch and button switch

Many people may not know much about the difference between large ship type switches and small button switches. They simply think that it is an aesthetic problem, but in fact it is not. There is a great difference in safety between them:
1. Breaking amplitude. Due to the torque problem, the small button has the same pressing range as the large ship type, and the large ship type switch can give the movable parts a greater breaking range. If the small button switch is to achieve similar breaking amplitude, the torsion of its internal spring will be higher than that of the large ship type, and it will be more prone to problems. It is often seen that the small button switch is stuck, largely because its internal spring has exceeded its service life.
2. The number of connections is limited. Because small buttons occupy less panel space, many brands of small buttons will provide more than 4-digit switch specifications, up to 6 digits. And the rear of the corresponding switch will be connected with many wires (if it is a 6-position double control switch, the rear will be connected with 12 wires). Too many wires fill the cassette. On the one hand, heat dissipation becomes a major problem; on the other hand, wires are easy to trip, resulting in accidents such as open circuit, short circuit and leakage. However, the large ship type switch is generally less than 4 positions, and the product usually has only 3 positions at most, which also limits the number of wires in the rear and ensures sufficient space in the cassette.
3. Reduce the risk of leakage during use. The small button switch is generally only the size of a finger. If the user's hand is in a wet state (for example, in the bathroom), the finger contacts the button fully and also contacts the gap between the button and the panel. If the quality of the switch is poor, the conductor inside the switch may contact with water and leak electricity, posing a threat to the user. The large ship type switch has a large pressing space, which reduces the risk in this aspect.
